Six Minutes to Success: The Law of Attraction on Steroids

Friday, November 7th, 2008
by Dr. Matthew Loop

Sometimes we don’t attract the things in our life that we dream of because we’re not ready for them. If this has been the case for you, I can tell you firsthand that that’s no longer the case, because you’ve finally attracted into your life Bob Proctor and his program for “Six Minutes to Success.” In as little as 6 minutes a day, you’ll achieve all the results in your life that “The Secret” promises, but with the one enzyme that makes it all work: Bob Proctor.

Are you still struggling to get by after a long time trying to attract your wildest dreams into your life? Are you asking yourself why this is all still happening? Bob Proctor knows the secret behind the Secret, and he’s more than willing to share it will you, just as he has with thousands of people across the nation now enjoying ridiculous amounts of success.

You’ve probably seen Bob Proctor already, because he’s the phenomenon making appearances on Larry King, Ellen DeGeneres, and Cynthia McFadden of ABC Nightline, just to name a few. His name is becoming so synonymous with attracting wealth into your life that under the title of the book “The Secret”, there should be in parenthesis, (Bob Proctor).

So, what’s stopping you? You probably don?t have the time or the money to attend one of Bob’s Seminars. You probably think you don’t have the education level, IQ, or appropriate goals to benefit from Bob’s teachings. Don’t sell yourself short! With Bob’s much anticipated “Six Minutes to Success” program, you too can learn Bob’s secrets in the comfort of your own home, and make your individual dreams a reality; no matter how big or small.

Gerry Robert certainly knows that. Gerry was a non-believer as well until he attended one of the $12,000 Bob Proctor seminars. In one year’s time, Gerry took his $100,000 annual income and attracted a $1 million dollar income! He’s now the author of “The Millionaire Mindset”, but it should be called “The Bob Proctor Mindset”.

To have all the wealth you ever thought possible, it seems like you’d need an incredible amount of time, focus, and resources, but the fact is, you only need 6 minutes a day! You can be unemployed, broke, crazy, or just stupid, and you?ll still begin to attract incredible wealth with Six Minutes to Success.

Many people say that “money is power”, and I agree with that. I also say that “money is freedom”. With the income that you’ve always dreamed of, you’re going to have the freedom to no longer worry about your bills and payments. In an economic crisis like the one we’re facing now, Bob Proctor’s Six Minutes to Success isn’t just a help, it’s a life-line.

All you have to do is spend Six Minutes a day with Bob Proctor, and you’re going to start to see the changes in your life happening instantly. Within 48 hours, your life is going to start to shift, and things you never thought possible will begin to flow into your life. Fasten your seat-belt, and the seat-belts of your family, because your life is about to transform as you always dreamed it would!

Free online interview with Shore Slocum … Following Your Heart

Friday, October 24th, 2008
by Healthy Wealthy nWise

Shore Slocum has worked for more than 20 years in the personal development field helping companies and individuals achieve success. A few of his corporate clients include FedEx, Southwest Airlines, Quaker Oats, and Prudential. Notable individuals include Norman Schwarzkopf, Mary Lou Retton, Larry King, Zig Ziglar, Bobby Knight, Dan O’Brien and Christopher Reeve.

Shore’s education includes both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Religious/Spiritual Studies, and he also holds a Doctorate in Holistic Theology. “The Living Kabbalah System” sold out during the first weekend of its release. Shore’s “Evolution of Spirit” is a series of books that will show you how to apply his core teachings to your life.

“Plugging into your passion” is at the heart of what Shore encourages his clients to do. During times in his own life that he wasn’t plugged in, there was no fire in his spirit. Much like “The Secret”, when he plugs in, things almost magically begin to happen. The people, ideas, and resources he needs begin to appear.

In a similar way, Shore Slocum would say that we all have a reason for being. We’re all here for a purpose, and we all have a gift. To plug into your passions means you’re using and sharing that gift with the world.

Today, Shore Slocum holds college degrees, but when he was younger, college wasn’t part of his plan. He was only 17 when he graduated, and although his family encouraged him to go on to college, he decided to go into retail sales instead.

It took only one holiday season of working 95 hour weeks before Shore realized retail wasn’t the life for him. Only then was he able to “plug into his passions” and see what really made him happy. He saw a need for change, and as a result, he saw opportunity for change.

The opportunity Shore saw was a free seminar with Anthony Robbins. A client introduced him to Anthony Robbins, and after only 20 minutes of the seminar, Shore knew this was the life he was meant to lead. He was only 18 years old, but at the break, he went up to Tony, introduced himself, and said “I’m going to work for you. When do I start?” After only six days, he’d moved from Oregon to California to start his dream job.

It’s been nearly 25 years since that seminar changed his life, and since then, Shore has been helping others plug in as well. Life hasn’t always been peaches and cream, but it has definitely been fulfilling. Find your path, and let your passions burn more passionately.

Coaching: an Essential Ingredient in Professional Development of Academic Staff

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

In professional development programmes the intention is always to provide the participants with personal and professional growth and establish a long-lasting form of learning.

Involving them with a meaningful learning experience, where action and reflection are important ingredients, is therefore crucial (Petty, 2007; Slepkov, 2008; Maeda, 2001).

Many of the more conventional forms of professional development, such as conferences, workshops, lectures and mass staff-institute days, are unpopular as they are often led by outside experts who tell staff what to do then are never heard from again (Salpeter, 2003).

These staff development efforts usually focus on specific skill development; the importance of mastering this particular skill being determined by others (Slepkov, 2008).

These initiatives tend to ignore the actual context in which academic staff operate and, therefore, become ‘just in case’ training events that seldom bring about visible change (Turner & Rimanoczy, 2008).

Learning occurs best in context or in experience, in real-life environments (Beard & Wilson, 2006, as cited in Petty, 2007; Slepkov, 2008; Turner & Rimanoczy, 2008).

To be effective, professional development must be ongoing, deeply embedded in our daily work and involve (self) reflection (Salpeter, 2003; Russo, 2004; Slepkov, 2008; Allan, 2007).

Professional development can be directed towards individuals or groups of individuals, but also towards teams. Teams are the work horses of today’s organisations, and educational organisations are no exception.

Teams of academic staff are responsible for curriculum development, teaching, assessment, the development of learning materials, and more. Still, a large amount of academic staff work in relative isolation, a barrier that must be broken in order to allow them to support each other, enhance collegiality, learn from each other and improve organisation-wide performance (Slepkov, 2008; Maeda, 2001).

Teams have their own dynamics, from sabotage on one end of the spectrum to resolute conflict avoidance on the other. And even teams that generally are productive can be improved. The focus of professional development for teams is on interactions more than individual development, but also with meaningful, realistic and ongoing work challenges as a basis (Field, 2007).

The learner must initiate and be personally committed to the learning experience (Petty, 2007); not as someone else defines it, but as they themselves perceive their needs to be (Slepkov, 2008).

When staff are actively engaged in learning and development opportunities, results can be seen in the form of profitability, employee satisfaction, innovation, retention, and customer satisfaction. Organisational outcomes are always and only achieved through the strength of their staff, thereby making staff engagement and learning a top organisational priority (Locke, 2008).

In summary, key to effective professional development is an ongoing, meaningful form of learning, based on authentic work situations, involving (self) reflection, and situated within the real-life work environment, where the learner (an individual or a team) defines their own learning needs.

Coaching

There are tremendous variations in what people call ‘coaching’. Educators should be clear about their goals and expectations before making an investment in any type of coaching initiative (Russo, 2004).

For the purpose of this article, the interpretation of ‘coaching’ follows the definition of the International Coach Federation (ICF).

The ICF decribes coaching as:
“Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives.

Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach’s job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has.”(ICF web site)

Coaching at its best is focused on authentic aspects of one’s personal or professional life that require attention (in the eyes of the beholder), takes place on a continuous basis and provides accountability, which supports the translation of the newly developed insights into action and successful implementation.

Professional development initiatives must be followed up to help participants translate what they learn into actual practice. This is exactly the piece that is usually missing in most professional development programmes (Salpeter, 2003; Maeda, 2001; Russo, 2004; Locke, 2008).

Furthermore, coaches not only support in developing staff knowledge and skills but, if successful, also assist in developing professional cultures within learning organisations (Neufeld & Roper, 2003).

Benefits and Impacts of Coaching

Perceived benefits and impacts of coaching incorporated in staff development programmes according to Allan (2007), Maeda (2001), and Thornton (2007) are (a) greater reflectivity and professional growth,
(b) development of techniques for constructively challenging unhelpful behaviours, including negativity and limiting beliefs,
(c) enhanced energy and job satisfaction,
(d) opening of creative thinking pathways and improvement of problem solving skills,
(e) enhanced personal effectiveness (work smarter, not harder), and
(f) enhanced awareness of the setting of realistic goals.

Coaching fosters relationships, feedback, care, conversation, collaboration, answers, and bonding between veterans, experts and novices. Productivity and satisfaction are most affected by coaching (Rossett & Merino, 2005). Apathy disappears and is replaced by energy and enthusiasm (Thornton, 2007).

With regards to teams, coaching usually improves performance, helps constructively manage conflict, encourages team members to speak up, and deepens the group’s understanding of the dynamics that may be limiting its effectiveness.

With this understanding comes greater trust and cohesiveness, which allows group members to interact with each other more empathetically and productively (Field, 2007).

Out of respect for individuals, improved relationships and the success that accompanies coaching, the atmosphere at work will change for the better. Where coaching is the norm, staff can expect to be treated with respect, to have their ideas and opinions sought, and to be thanked occasionally (Thornton, 2007).

In summary, coaching has exactly those elements that are usually lacking in professional development initiatives. The perceived benefits and impacts seem interesting enough to consider coaching an essential ingredient in academic staff development.

Better Self-Confidence-How To Obtain It

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Have you ever thought, if you had better self-confidence or self-esteem, that everything would be possible? With enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence, everything is possible!

Then you would be able to realize everything you are dreaming of regarding improving your finances, health and relationships. It is actually true that people with good self-esteem often succeed in life better than others.

What does that depend on?

In order to understand why, then we need to grasp what self-confidence is, what self-esteem is, and the difference between these.

Self-confidence is what you display to other people in the forms of real results with job, career, finances, appearance, etc. Your conscience judgment of what you have accomplished increases or decreases your self-confidence. By obtaining the things you think are fantastic; it creates a certain status for you, increasing your self-confidence.

Self-esteem is an inner unconscious judgment of yourself that reflects your emotional and spiritual balance and presence. Self-esteem is built when you are honest with yourself and your feelings, regardless of external circumstances. It means that you are doing what you really want with your life, and therefore you feel secure and happy with your life.

Many people have good self-confidence, but bad self-esteem, which means that they have accomplished much outer success, but know that they are really not where they want to be in their lives. These individuals can be deeply unhappy; although it appears that they have everything. Look at the vast majority of pop stars, elite athletes and heads of companies whom fall under this category.

Then you have those who have a good self-esteem, but bad self-confidence. They can be that unknown artist or environmental activist, who feels deep inside that they are doing right with their lives, but the frustration that they can not get their message out to a greater audience, makes it so they will never experience good self-confidence.

The ideal is of course, to have a balance between good self-confidence and good self-esteem. There you have a person in balance whom succeeds outwardly, but whom also has balance inside themselves. There you can count in certain pop stars, elite athletes and heads of companies. But since they have balance within themselves, you can see and feel that this success is authentic on all levels. But keep in mind that good self-confidence comes and goes, while good self-esteem is an internal decision about what you do with your life, which exists as long as you are honest with yourself.

How can you get better self-confidence and self-esteem?

Here are seven ways to go about this:

1. Live the life you actually want to have, so as to increase your self-esteem
2. See to it that you personally decide over your life, which increases your self-esteem
3. By being a floor mop for others, it breaks down your self-esteem, Do not accept that!
4. Create success outwardly, so that you strengthen your self-confidence
5. Combine strong self-esteem with strong self-confidence, so that you succeed
6. It is not important where you start; everything can be fixed no matter how hopeless it looks
7. Do not compare yourself with others. Instead, create your own future within (and outside) yourself

Is Improving Your Coaching Skills a Way to Improve Your Income?

Saturday, October 18th, 2008
by Milana Leshinsky, Coaching Millions

Have you ever thought about why some coaches are able to charge - and get! - more than others?

Better coaching skills is rarely the reason.

I recently interviewed Ed Zimbardi, a special guest at my Coaching Millions Club, where he revealed a strategy that some may find controversial or even manipulative.

Getting emotionally involved with your prospect’s problem and becoming passionate about their success is one of the most powerful ways to enroll clients.

If done right and in the best interest of the client, I believe that you can not only get a high-paying client but also a highly committed client who’s much more likely to succeed.

You’ll find an excerpt from my interview with Ed below.

“Attracting Clients Into High-End Coaching Programs”

My audio interview (excerpt) with Ed Zimbardi on selling High End Coaching Programs is below. This comes to every new member of the Coaching Millions Club in a special “welcome” package:

“I look at 3 different areas in people’s lives in order to get them engaged to the emotional level where they would invest just about anything, and I mean six figures or more.

The way it works is, I get people to think about where they are at now and how long they’ve been in that process to get to where they are at now, I then focus on where it is they ultimately want to go, in other words “finding the why” tying it to something physical, emotional and then I analyze what their plan is to get them there.

If someone has been in a process of 3 years, or 5 years and they are not making very much progress, ultimately if they continue another 3 to 5 years they are going to get the same results. Not very much progress. I get them engaged emotionally to understand that without new decisions, they are not going to get new results.

When I get people emotionally engaged to that level of what they want to do with their lives and that they are really mistaken-they are lying to people, they are stealing from family, from their kids because they are not willing to do what it takes-to take action.

If you truly believe that what you have can have an impact on people’s lives, then the money comes - bigger than you ever dreamed possible.

When you get emotional about somebody else’s future, they will end up believing in you, they will end up using your beliefs, they lean on your beliefs when you are presenting your information to them that when they can actually do it because you believe in them.

Think about your kids when they are growing up? You have to tell them you believe in them, right? And they end up believing it because they are leaning on your belief. They may not believe it in themselves yet, but they are believing that you believe in them and that’s where this principle really comes from.

A lot of stuff I do and teach comes from the basics of life. You ultimately can get people to make decisions that they never made before because they feel like they are losing if they walk out that door or get off that telephone call and didn’t take action. It’s very powerful when you are in a room and you get the emotions going, how people can make a decision to change their life in ways that you never believed possible prior to listening to this particular message of Milana and I.”

Quick and Easy Way To Achieve Your Goals.

Friday, October 17th, 2008
by Joanne Roibu

Sometimes, we just don’t know enough about what we are trying to achieve. Stuart Wilde

The most common information my clients want to know is…

How can I be sure that, this time, I achieve the goals that I set?

And my answer is…First, get clear about what is that you want to achieve. You may think this is obvious but, more often than not though, I find that prospective clients who come to me thinking that they are clear about what they want, in fact, are not.

Yes, but how do you know if you are clear?

If you can convince yourself of what achieving the particular goal means to you, then you’ve done it.
Ask yourself not only what you want (this is definitely a good place to start) but why you want this. What about getting this goal is important to you?

The all time favorite goal that a lot of people have is to be rich. Excellent. What is rich to you? Is it having $10,000, $1,000,000 or $100,000,000? Or maybe it is being able to take 3 holidays a year in 5 star hotels. Or traveling the world.

Great, now that you know what you want, answer why you want it? If you do want a particular sum of money ask yourself what the money’s exchange power means to you. What will you do with your new found fortunes? Will you attend more family gatherings, go to more plays, spend more time with your loved ones?

Ok, you know what you want and you know why you want it. Now what do you do?

Yes, you are right if you said that you ask how it makes you feel to achieve this goal. Put yourself in that picture. Think about you with the achieved goal. What is it like to have it? Understand how it makes you feel means getting to the essence of what and why you want the goal.

What is Essence?

Essence is the intrinsic properties that serve to characterize something. Achieving the particular goal that you want gives you security, happiness, joy or confidence. Take the time to identify the intrinsic properties of your goal achieved.

Don’t risk getting more of what you have…

Go ahead. Take this different approach and ask yourself:
1) What do I want?
2) Do I really want it? Why do I want it?
3) What is the unchangeable, unique element of how achieving this goal will make me feel?

Invest the time and get clear about what you want up front. Remember that, sooner or later, you will need to do this anyway.

Be Unstoppable!

Employee Retention: Even More Important in Today’s Economy

Thursday, October 16th, 2008
by Alison K. Mitchelson

There is nothing more frustrating that putting a lot of time, training and investment in a good employee only to have them quit and pursue a career elsewhere, so what do you do when you have a whole generation of workers who are known for this very practice?

In an economy where employment is fully vested, Generation Y workers (or those who were the children of the baby boomers and Generation Xers) have a distinct advantage in many cases over their employers. If you want to make sure that you can keep workers you value and that you worked hard to train, be aware of these things.

The first thing that you need to know is that Generation Y is better connected and communicates more than any generation before it. This is a generation that grew up on things like instant messenger and has always used the internet as an important resource.

Because of this, they also know cutting-edge news about their industry, what people are saying about it, and where those “better jobs” are. Therefore, if they’re not getting what they think they deserve where they are, they think nothing of going on to that better job offer.

In light of all of this, it is easy to see why you want to work on employee retention. Every new employee that you bring on uses a certain amount of resources and budget to train. They may need supplies, instructions and valuable training, and the more you invest in them, the less you want them to leave.

A high turnover when it comes to staff leads to a very a stressful work environment and one that is not nearly as productive if it could be. High turnover means more time and money spent training, and there is no guarantee that you will keep the new trainees either.

The best defense when it comes to retaining Generation Y employees is to give them the best work environment that you can. Good coaching and good training, with the promise of more valuable training to come, will ensure your employees job satisfaction. In which case they will be more likely to remain loyal.

You should also have a reputation for promoting from within, so that your employees have a reason to show you the same loyalty and investment in you that you have shown to them. One good way to make sure that your reputation is staying strong is to Google your company and see what other people are saying about it. This can provide valuable information that you can use to improve your company’s standing.

Generation Y has a habit of job hopping, but only in light of seeking better job satisfaction, so if you find that you are looking to retain your employees, you will want to look into their needs.

Tips for working with a Life Coach

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008
by Jeanette Meierhofer CFLC

Over the years, I have been both the coach and the client. In both roles, I’ve found some strategies that helped me and my clients get the most out of being coached. Follow a few of these simple rules and you’ll find your growth excel beyond your wildest dreams.

*Let go of your expectations

When you focus on an intention, you are put fully in charge of your life. You are now in charge of doing the work. The clincher is you are not in charge of what happens as a result of what you do. Too many clients get frustrated that the results the expected to happen didn’t. Usually I have to shift their focus to a benefit that occurred that they never saw. Pay attention to what you are doing, acknowledge yourself for doing the work, then sit back and watch the good stuff come to you. You may have to turn your head to see it, but it’s there. Don’t get stuck, and waste a lot of energy, by trying to control the outcome. You’ll feel more disappointment that way.

*Acknowledge the growth you are experiencing.

Most of my sessions are simply about whatever is going on in the client’s mind and heart that day. Certainly they hire me to help with with a specific life goal, and we always reach a destination they are satisfied with, but the every day issues that creep up and need sorting always serve the higher goal in the end. When you grow, you become more of who you are, no matter what direction you grow in. It will always take you to a better place, trust in that.

*Do what is asked of you

Admittedly I’m a bit ambitious when it comes to my own personal growth, so when I was coached, I did my homework and I did it as thoroughly as possible. I have clients who do the same and they reach their goals a lot quicker than the clients who don’t do the work at all. If you are challenged by the homework you are assigned, bring it up with your coach. This is a great opportunity to discover what’s behind those challenges and to find tools to overcome them. Put into your coaching what you want to get out of it.

*Be present in your sessions

How are you showing up for your sessions? If you’re being coached over the phone, make sure you’re sitting still in a peaceful and quiet place. If you’re being coached in person, find a way to be present in the room with your coach. The more engaged you are in what you are doing, the more you’ll get out of your sessions.

The Benefits of Using a Personal Life Coach

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008
by Jeanette Meierhofer

If you’re ready to knock twenty years off your learning curve as a human being, then you’re ready to hire a Personal Life Coach. Growing up we aren’t really taught much about our own personal growth and development, which are vital to learn about if we are to enjoy life fully. A little assisted self discovery work now and again is the key to your success.

There are a ton of positive outcomes to working with a personal life coach: from learning self forgiveness, to holding yourself accountable to creating your own life, to learning to just be. The bottom line is you’ll be put back in charge of YOU!

What is the one area of your life that isn’t what you thought it was going to be? With a personal life coach, you can not only change that area, but also find out what held you back from having things the way you deserved them in the first place. And once you learn what’s been holding you back, you can apply your new tools and awarenesses to other areas of your life. There’s no end to the change you can accomplish once you’ve worked with a Personal Life Coach.

There is no better way to get back in touch with your own needs and wants than working with a personal life coach. Your Life Coach is there to help you discover yourself, rarely will they tell you what you need to do, they will always ask you. And even if you think you don’t know, you’d be surprised at the answers that come out when I ask my clients, “If you did know what to do, what would it be?”

A good coach asks you questions to get you to find answers for yourself. You know yourself best, whether you realize it or not. Hiring a coach is like hiring someone to shine a flashlight on the forgotten parts of you. You’ll discover so many interesting things about yourself that you didn’t know!

How will you know that you’ve been working with a good coach? After a while life will hand you situations to process. If you’re able to handle them confidently by yourself with the tools the coach gave you, that’s a good indication. As a coach, my job is to work myself out of a job! I want to leave you with the tools you need to handle your life with grace and strength.

By the time you’re done with your coaching journey, you will have claimed your higher self, no matter what your goal was. Your coach will have held your higher self until you were ready to embrace it. What an invaluable resource a life coach is: someone who believes in you, someone who knows you can handle whatever is challenging you, someone who can help you see the gifts you are being presented.

Do you know how much cash flow you will need in retirement? Okay, so it finally hits you that investing in real estate is the best possible move you can make with your money. With your heart is set on buying an apartment building, your search for reading material on the topic has brought you to this article. So what do you need to consider when making this investment?

by john krol Boomers Bank

The answer is simple; use, use and use. Use is possibly the most important factor in terms of the property’s value. For your investment to be a success, you need to think of the building?s use for you as well as for your tenants. Hence, you need to also put yourself in the shoes of your customers, i.e. your tenants. To kick start things, first attain information on the demographics of the area in which you want to invest in. This should give you a basic idea of who your target audience is and will also allow you to build a general profile of your typical tenant.

With that profile in mind, think then of what the average tenant would need if he/she lives in your building. For starters, regardless of who you rent out to, people will always need basic amenities near by. Thus, you have to ensure that the apartment building you buy is located near a grocery store, entertainment facilities, medical facilities and the like. You should note that although people might have cars, they won?t like driving for more than 10 minutes to get the basic necessities. For example, in an emergency situation, no person would like to drive more than 10 minutes to get to a hospital.

Following the universal needs, you need to look a little more closely into the profile you have outlined. The more you breakdown this profile, the greater will be chances for success. For instance, if currently you feel that your building will primarily be occupied by families, then you should study the demographic data carefully to figure out what kind of families are we talking about. Will the families be newly married couples or families with school-going children’ If it’s the former of the two cases, then your building should ideally be located near a good quality daycare center. Meanwhile, if it’s the latter of the two cases, then you will be best positioned if the building is a near a good quality school.

Use is possibly the most important factor when one is to make a purchase. Combine that with customer profiling, and you have the recipe for success. However, always remember that you shouldn’t venture outside your comfort zone unless you absolutely have to. Comfort zone here refers to areas with which you are familiar and have possibly had experience in previously. This point is important always but even more when you are initially starting out as a real estate investor. When starting out, stick to what you know and try out new things only when you feel you have a handle on the situation. And always, always, keep your eyes and ears open to absorb whatever information you can about your location so that you are never left in the dark.

Emotional Intelligence - The Inside Track to Business Success

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008
by Alison K. Mitchelson

In New South Wales and in particular Sydney, the business environment is growing and vibrant. As with any community that grows at this pace, we need more talent and leadership, and there are many people who are trying hard to find their niche in this area.

One talent that will assist you in getting ahead in this market is to tap into your emotional intelligence, also known as EI. There are many different competing definitions of just what emotional intelligence is, but most deal with a multimodal view of intelligence.

Simply put, however, those who have a high emotional intelligence quotient, or EQ, are much better at reading people’s emotions than those who have less ability in this area. They can read their coworkers’ emotions in a room, and can isolate problems a business may be having before the problems worsensand comes to a head.

People with a high EQ can be identified in the workplace by their ability to use their own changing moods to focus on different parts of a project. In addition to being good at reading other people’s emotions, they’re good at identifying their own, which allows them to suit their mood to the task at hand. A sign of a high EQ worker is that they’ll proactive task switch rather than sit and pound their head against the wall trying to work on the same project again and again.

As you think about how to use your emotional intelligence in the workplace, think about it as a way of taking a glimpse at what other people are thinking. Because you can “read” people’s moods from their body language and facial expressions, this can give you a competitive edge over others, in any situation where you may be arranging a contract or doing other types of negotiations. In fact, if you watch someone read something, you can often read their reaction to a contract as they read it.

If you’re moving into a leadership position, the second part of emotional intelligence comes into play; what used to be called “charisma” or the ability to lead people. People with high EQs know what to tell others to get the most work out of them; they know when someone needs a bit of stress added to break through a problem, and they’re the ones who can read the body language of subordinates well enough to know when to step in and offer assistance, a pat on the back, or an “I appreciate what you’re doing,” for example.

Having emotional intelligence can be a somewhat useful skill in public speaking, too, but it’s best if you use it in small groups or in one-on-one situations. You can likely enhance it with practice, but you can only push it so far.

While all businesses value people who “get along with others”, the model of emotional intelligence indicates that it’s not always a “learned skill”. Either way, being aware of how you fit on the emotional intelligence spectrum and being aware of your abilities and limitations, is a step up on using this ability to advance your career, or to better serve your clients with your business.

Is Life Coaching A Waste Of Expense?

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

In today’s economic unease, we tend to take a closer look to our expenses. It is easy to cut out the things we don’t need, and still class important the unimportant. So, is life coaching a waste of expense or is it an asset which can help you put surety and ease into your own finances and other areas?

Life coaching can help in many areas - you have seen this. When you get life coaching, the life coach can assist you in reaching your goals, usually in a quicker time or with a surer route, then if you had taken the route yourself.

This is an important consideration for many reasons. If we look at economic uncertainties, we find a few interesting points. We find that some people still climb, while the majority has a hard time.

You have likely heard of the phrase - the rich get richer, while the poor get poor. In a recession this becomes a phrase that is easily seen in our daily reality. This can work good or bad, depending on which side you find yourself in.

Look at the budget, and you may feel that going for a life coach at this time, might not be the best investment. This is something that comes down to your own abilities, and resources.

A recession can be a blessing or a curse; depending on how you choose to look at it. What intrigues me is not what happens on mass as public perception, but the people who actually make big growth during that phase.

And what is found, is that these people make some of there biggest gains during a recession. No longer do we need to be stuck in the status quo. Now, you can look with new eyes at opportunity.

The gains usually have someone behind the scenes. It could be a book that inspires an entrepreneur to great heights, it could be an article like this or more likely a life coach who helped, served and guided the person to achievement.

Whatever happens, the recession can bite us all. We all can feel a pinch, it could be closures, it could be staff laid off, and it even could be a number of things. However, one thing that is constant is that the economy will improve.

It is a part of life, and life coaching can often help to keep you on top form, so you perform your best - irrespective of what is happening around you.

And this is gold; because you have just struck out of the game of blaming external factors, such as a recession, and have now taken your life and future success into your own hands, and have made a decision to succeed.

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

There are many ways to make money as a life coach. Often it can seem like you only have one way to earn money as a life coach, either coaching clients face to face with your own life coaching practice or coaching clients face to face, in a life coaching job. The truth is that there are many ways you can make money. Discover them now!

There are 3 main areas that you can make money as a life coach, here they are:

* Life coaching jobs
* Other sources of income

Let’s look into these areas in more depth. They all can make money for you, and all offer great potential. Take a look at them and consider if they meet your needs. Then go with the option that seems best for you.

* Your own life coaching practice
A fast way to become a life coach and earn money is to start your own life coaching practice. All that is required is to start.

The result is good, it allows you to learn about business, and this can be an essential aspect of coaching your clients. The lessons learned will make a big impact not only in your own life, but in your coaching client’s lives also.

Theme Get The Entire Basketball Team on Board Quickly

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008
by Chuck Stewart

Coaching Jr High basketball is something I am looking forward to this winter. I can hardly wait until the last snap of the football season has been made and we can get started. I have been pleased with the attendance at the pre-season basketball conditioning workouts. Almost every student athlete has been attending as long as they are not playing a fall sport. I am now working on developing an overall strategy for the season. One of the challenges I face is to find the right tone to set for the team that can be used throughout the season. Many coaches believe that setting the tone or theme for the season is extremely important. I like and support this concept.

Many teams will find a word to pick that will be their central theme for the year. The goal is to use the word throughout the season to have it stick in the player’s minds when the times are difficult or they are in need of inspiration. The theme is typically a word that will help to take the team to the next level as it is embraced. I overheard one local football coach say that their theme for the year is One, which means they want to win one game. For the record, I am looking for semething a little more motivational than that.

Over the last few years our varsity team at the high school has struggled to be over 500. They have had their share of injuries and bad calls and coaching replacements and bad luck and kids with bad grades being ineligible and crazy parents and the list goes on and on. Make a note that I did not mention that we have not been very good basketball players at our school, even though I believe that is the primary issue behind the poor seasons. Every school goes through a period like this one. Ours has just been a little longer than most. Our new coach came in and gave us a great theme - Believe.

I like and support this theme for a large number of reasons. The most glaring reason to support the theme is that it addresses the main issue of not believing we can win games. This theme will help the players to get more focused on all things basketball, something that has been lacking in the past. A new atmosphere should help the players on the team to focus on helping each other to improve and will result in a better win percentage for the team. At our school the varsity basketball team has been missing that atmosphere. At the Jr High we will begin to change that this year. It is my hope that the attitude remains with the players as they continue to improve their skills and move up the ranks at our school

At the Jr High we measure success by how well the players develop during the course of the year. We care less about winning, although winning is great, than we do about teaching them to play defense and learning the proper fundamentals. I BELIEVE I can do a great job for the kids this coming season.

Happiness Is the Key To Prosperity

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Yes, we are posed with a myriad of challenges in our struggle to find our niche in a society that is amongst the most competitive in the world. Culturally, the many communities are for most intent and purposes a happy go lucky cultural. Our music, our food and our basic approach to the celebration of life in general is an upbeat happy existence.

The challenge comes in when we deviate from taking stock on: who we are, where we come from, how we find ourselves in the current situation, falling in to counterproductive behavioral modes; that leave no more for progressive growth. Author and researcher Gregg Easterbrook states:

“It requires some effort to achieve a happy outlook on life, and most people don’t make it.”

From personal experiences as a migrant farm worker; working the agriculture fields of Fresno, San Joaquin, Monterrey and Orange Counties in the heat, with no water, no breaks, no toilet, the list goes on we still found time to sing while working and talking about where we would be hanging out in the evenings particularly the weekends.

You see attitude is everything. Happiness is not just about money but also a sense of personal spiritual salvation. Not getting caught up with materialism and understanding that happiness is based on health coupled with a strong base of faith. A strong healthy spiritual faith based approach to life will ultimately evolve a humble appreciation for happiness and gratitude.

If you are experiencing a sense of gloominess and unfulfilled; break away from it now. Take a look at those less-fortunate, then give thanks for your situation of being whole. Identify good friends, find the niche that will make you a happy camper, get connected to your spiritual foundation, be optimistic, think positive, be prepared to help others who need happiness; you will be surprised the rewards in helping others.

Finally, don’t ever be afraid to love. Love life, love people, love what you do, love the great day you are having and love what you expect to see; what is coming to you in the future.

People think that happiness is a feeling, it can be called the other way happiness can be a way of life. Happiness is disguised as so many things in life, it is always better to learn the secret to attract true happiness that will last a lifetime. Remember that happiness is what many people strive for each day but it mostly eludes them.

What To Look For In A Life Coach

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Are you thinking about enlisting the help of a life coach? What are some of the things to look for, when looking for a life coach? How to choose a life coach is a consideration which is important, after all, a good life coach will do much better for the results we get.

Life coaching is an interesting topic, as it is one way that high achievers keep being high achievers. You see, a life coach can make major differences in our results, but how are you to choose a life coach?

Here are the things you need to consider when you try to find a life coach:
* How Is Their Personality?
* What Is Their Specialty?
* What Are Their Skills?
* What Talents Do They Have?
* Can They Provide Networking Opportunities?
* What Is Their Performance?

* How Is Their Personality?
The first point to consider, when looking for a life coach, is what their personality is like. Personality is an important consideration, even though it may not seem to be so, in the surface.

If you can’t look up to the person or feel like you’re on the same level, then the partnership won’t work. For example, many people who go to Anthony Robbins seminars or get coaching from him do so, not just because of the great advice he gives, but also the positive impact his personality has in our lives.

* What Is Their Specialty?
Specialty is an important consideration. You need something or you would not want a life coach. You may need to get to peak performance. You may need to lose weight; you may need to make more money. Finding specialist in the respective field can do a lot more then finding a general life coach.

* What Are Their Skills?
You will need to evaluate there skills also. There is no point if a life coach has the knowledge but not the skills to give you practical advice.

* What Talents Do They Have?
Talents are similar to the personality. If you procrastinate and need motivation for action, then you will need to find someone who can motivate you to take action.

* Can They Provide Networking Opportunities?
Though this is not a big issue, it can be great for networking opportunities. How big is Rolodex of the life coach? Being able to network can be a great way to find the results you need sooner. However, remember this is a bonus to have, and not the main point.

* What Is Their Performance?
Performance is a critical factor to finding life coaching. If the coach has no testimonials or information which you have tried and tested, then it is unlikely they can help you. You seek performance; remember to see if they go at your speed or faster.

Objections and Stalls, Who Needs Them?

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

“That was a terrific presentation Mark,” said his new prospect. “I am very interested and would like to call you next week to discuss this opportunity further.” Mark leaves his appointment with his chin held high. He believes that he totally has this deal.

But does he? What could possibly stand between Mark and closing this piece of business?

“I need to think it over.”

“Your prices seem a little high.”

“We are very busy right now, but will probably do something with you down the road.”

“The committee will be meeting in a few weeks to discuss the project.”

“We’ve decided to stay with our current supplier.”

How high is Mark’s chin now? Selling in the current business climate has never been more challenging. Our prospects seem to do everything in their power to put off making a decision to buy. In addition, a buyer’s lack of trust and inability to take risks creates a serious dilemma for many salespeople out there in the trenches. Here are a few suggestions to help you avoid these stalls and objections in the future.

1. Building TRUST is a critical element in moving a prospect forward to a sale. Without building trust and a relationship with your prospect, the potential sale is transactional. Transactional sales are the worst kind because they are always based on your lowest price or most aggressive terms. Do you really want to be just another vendor or a strategic partner? Building trust isn’t always easy. You must focus on the prospect and find out what commonalities you share. You must also ask questions and listen. People tend to trust people who they feel understand them.

2. Qualify your prospect by asking open-ended questions. Find out about their background, company’s history and what problems they are trying to solve. “So tell me, how did you originally get into this industry?”

Once you understand their personal situation, ask questions about their commitment to solving the problems discussed. “What kind of priority is it to fix a problem like this?” Then find out who else is involved in making the decision and what their process is to move forward in making one. “Other than yourself, who else would be involved in making a decision like this?” Lastly, are they willing and able to invest money to fix the problems discussed. “What type of investment were you thinking you would make to fix this problem?”

By qualifying your prospect thoroughly in a conversational manner, you will address or pass over many objections and stalls before investing a lot of time, money and energy on the wrong prospects. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

3. Don’t present too early in your sales process. One of the biggest mistakes salespeople make today is giving up too much product or service information and pricing with their prospects. I am not saying don’t share that information, but you should wait until you’ve accomplished the first two steps mentioned above. After you have built trust and qualified your prospect, feel free to move forward to a presentation. I would like to share with you one thought before presenting though. Only present what they need to feel comfortable to move forward with their decision. By sharing everything you have or do, there is a good chance that it doesn’t apply to what the prospect needs or cares about. It’s mostly fluff that YOU think is important. Focus on them and you can’t lose.

The beautiful thing about using these strategies is that prospects’ objections are more limited. By not giving up all of the information at the beginning of the appointment, they have very little to what they can object. Think about this: How can someone object if you haven’t said anything? Cliches like “selling is telling and show up and throw up” describe why you are better off asking questions and qualifying, rather than hard selling during an appointment. Now our friend Mark can truly hold his chin up high knowing that the objections and stalls he faced in the past will be minimized. If he has the courage to set up the next steps with his prospect including a time, date and clearly defined outcome, he will truly be ahead of the game.

Is It Better To Have A Life Coach Or Be Your Own Life Coach?

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

The life coaching industry seems to be growing at a fast rate. It was only a few years ago, that finding a life coach was a difficult task. Today, it is much easier. If you have been wondering about finding a life coach, you may also have thought about being your own life coach, you may even be your own coach right now. So, which option is best?

What is a life coach? The simplest definition I can give you is a walking encyclopedia! They literally have answers. But, whereas a book worm is someone who simply has the theoretical the life coach who is actively practicing is someone who has the practical, and not just the theory, and here is where they can benefit you.

There are a number of choices when looking to find solutions to your problems. For example, if you need to increase income - a book may help, life coaching may help, a seminar can also help.

But, how many people like trying to find something in a book? You likely have to go to the index, and then flick through to find the page, then the section with the information. Trying to learn something, so you can apply it, can take time.

Wouldn’t it be great to get an immediate answer? This is where life coaching can help. Because your life coach, likely knows the answer. You don’t need to read a book; you don’t need to invest years applying to know the solutions, because the life coach already has the answer.

From the last few points, you should have an idea of whether you really need a life coach or not. For some people, learning and applying is the fun part. So, being your own life coach can be a great idea. And it is personal development, and personal growth that can last a lifetime.

It can be beneficial to go with both options, and we see it all the time. Life coaches have their own life coaches. Business people and high achievers are their own life coaches, yet still have a life coach who also helps.

Most people will usually find that they will go with both options. Some may use more of a life coaches help, while some will choose to go through mostly their own personal development, through books, etc.

There is a big factor which comes into what choice you make, and that is your own ability to get up and go. If you are a self starter, then this can be great, as you can literally start on projects and act on them.

For people who can’t get up and go, and need motivation, a life coach can be a great way to have that accountability, where we feel compelled to act. In either case, both options are a great way to find the solutions to your problems, and reach your goals.

Sometimes learning where to see those opportunities for abundance can be difficult. Visit goal setter to learn about a great system for achieving your best.

Coaching Website Mistakes - Avoid These Website Mistakes If You Want A Successful Coaching Business

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Simple website mistakes can cost you potential clients, lost revenue, frustration by the bucket load, and jeopardize the success of your coaching business.

It takes time to establish a successful coaching business, so make sure you give your business the best chance of success by getting your coaching website right the first time. Your website is one of your most important marketing tools, if you avoid these common mistakes when you create your coaching website, you will be way ahead of the competition.

Lack Of Focus

Your goals for your coaching website need to be clear, detailed and time-specific. They need to be like a road map, helping you to make good decisions and get closer and closer to a successful coaching business. If your website goals are fuzzy you’ll struggle to put all the pieces together and build a site that attracts your ideal clients to you.

Trying To Appeal To Everyone

You website needs to be aimed at a specific target market with a specific problem. There are a lot of coaches out there, you need to stand out from you competitors and have a clear message. It’s not enough to tell your visitors that you’re a coach and can help them solve their problems and be successful. You need to demonstrate that you understand your visitor’s pain and have a solution, and you need to do that in the first few seconds or your visitor will click away.

If your website is targeted towards a specific target market with a specific problem - such as first time mums, aged 25 to 35, who are working and overwhelmed with the responsibility of being a mum, wife and breadwinner you will find it much easier to grab their attention and offer a solution.

Talking about you and about coaching rather than your visitor and the solution to their problem

Your visitors don’t buy coaching, they buy solutions to problems. Your website needs to demonstrate that you understand their problem and have the solution. That’s what your visitors are looking for and that’s what they will buy.

Not having enough keyword rich content

Many coaching websites don’t have enough content. Your website needs to demonstrate that you are an expert and that you have solutions that will produce results. You need to prove to your visitors that you can help them, so provide keyword rich content that builds credibility, helps you to connect on a deep level and encourages potential clients to take action.

Not knowing your most wanted response and not having a clear call to action

Your website needs to lead your visitors to take action that will help them to solve their problem. If you don’t have a clear sense of what you want your visitors to do, they won’t know what to do and are likely to click away and never return. Your website needs to encourage your visitor to take action and leave them in no doubt about what they need to do and how to do it.

Guessing at the keywords potential clients will use to find your site

If you target the wrong keywords you will wait for months and still not get search engine traffic to your site. You need to research the keywords clients use to search for what you offer and focus your content around those keywords. Only then will your site have any chance of being listed on the first page of Google.

Why does your site need to be on the first page of Google? Because 90% of searchers don’t bother to look beyond the first page of search results! If your website isn’t on the first page of search results it will be virtually invisible to the people you want to find it.

If you are making the mistake of focusing your coaching website around keywords that hardly anyone is searching for and know you need to do keyword research but hate the idea or don’t know how, you could pay someone to do keyword research for you, or you could buy already researched keyword lists.

Whatever you do, don’t guess at the keyword phrases your potential clients will use to search for what you have to offer.

The best keywords for your coaching niche are just a few clicks away.

Self Help: the Bottom-line For All Success and Achievement is Your BELIEFS

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Do you agree with what the greatest Self-Help Success author of all time Napoleon Hill (author of Think & Grow Rich) said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it will achieve”?

I’ve learned– often the hard ways– that what your mind believes you will ALWAYS achieve: Good, bad or indifferent. Unless and until something comes along to “change your mind.”

Your beliefs create your paradigm of life– the way it is, whatever the “it” is we’re talking about. There are paradigms for every domain of life and work.

A paradigm is your belief about the way it is. It’s your “worldview” of the matter no matter what’s the matter.

A classic example of a marketplace paradigm (worldview, belief) is the wristwatch: Until the 1970s, geared timepieces– the “Swiss watch”– were the dominant paradigm; jeweled movements, mainsprings, winding mechanisms (think Rolex). With the development of cheap semi-conductors and wafer thin batteries, the quartz watch (think Seiko)– with its greater accuracy and low price– became the new paradigm of wristwatches.

In a more a human arena, a paradigm is the underlying belief we are operating from.

Our beliefs are habits of thought– those things we think about a given subject most consistently and frequently and for the longest time– and the associated feelings that come with those thoughts. Beliefs and memories are the same thing. A memory becomes a belief the more often it’s recalled and the more powerfully we infuse it with our emotional energy.

One important thing to know about our beliefs and memories is they are NOT the truth. They are always our interpretations of events in the past. Just like six eye-witnesses to the same street crime will describe six different sets of details… or at various stages and ages in our lives we remember the exact same incident very differently.

Our memories and beliefs– our paradigms– are NOT real. We MAKE THEM UP.

And they can change in an instant when new, more compelling information becomes available.

The following is a true story told by Frank Koch, which appeared in an issue of Proceedings, the magazine of the United States Naval Institute. It dramatically illustrates how one simple, yet profound new bit of information completely changed a very big paradigm 180 degrees in an instant.

As background, let me explain that at the time of this story, a battleship was THE most formidable navel war vessel in the world. It was three football fields long (longer than most skyscrapers are tall), weighed 50,000 tons and carried a crew of 1500 sailors. It also had nine 16″ guns that could fire a one-ton explosive “bullet” and blow up a target as small as a tank 23 miles away.

Two battleships assigned to the training squadron had been at sea on maneuvers in heavy weather for several days. Koch was serving on the lead battleship and was standing watch on the bridge as night fell. He recounts his experience.

“The visibility was extremely poor with patchy fog, so the captain remained on the bridge, keeping an eye on our navigation activities.”

“Shortly after dark, the lookout on the wing of the bridge reported, ‘Light, bearing on the starboard bow!’

“The captain called out, ‘Is it steady or moving astern?’

“The lookout replied, ‘Steady, captain,’ which meant that we were on a collision course with that source of light.

“The captain then called to the signalman, ‘Signal that ship: We are on a collision course. . . advise you change course 20 degrees.’

“Back came the signal from the other ship. ‘Advisable for you to change course 20 degrees!’

“The captain barked, ‘Send, I’m a captain. . . change course 20 degrees immediately.’

“‘I’m a seaman second-class,’ came the reply. ‘You had better change course 20 degrees!’”

“By this time, the captain was furious. He spat out, ‘Send, I am a battleship! Change course 20 degrees.’

“Back came the signal from the flashing light. . .’

“I am a lighthouse. . .”

All it takes to change a paradigm– or a belief– even the most firmly entrenched and universally agreed upon, is one new piece of “compelling” information.

Admittedly, with a belief that you and I have held on to as our dominant paradigm for 20, 30, 40 years or more, that may require some focused and consistent effort over time. But if the experts are correct and you can establish a new habit in 21 to 28 days. . . you’re always less than one month away from changing your life for the better forever.

So, how do you know what your beliefs are?

Look at your life right now. . .

That’s what you have believed up ’til now.

Don’t like what you’ve got?

Change your beliefs.

It’s the only way.

Think of it like this:

Your beliefs are your operating system, and exactly like the OS Whatever (DOS, Mac, Linux, Unix) on your computer, your beliefs organize and control all your human hardware and software, so everything works the way it’s supposed to.

Now, you’d be crazy to run your computer with software developed back in the 1960s or ’70s. (The computer in your cell phone is more powerful than any desktop was just 20 years ago.) And you’d be totally nuts to depend on an operating system designed by a five or six-year old “programmer” wouldn’t you?

But that’s exactly the kind of software you’re using right this minute to run your life. . .

YOU OS 1.0: Fundamental beliefs MADE UP in the mind of a little child– and most probably a disappointed, dissatisfied, discouraged, disheartened little “programmer” trying desperately to safely navigate the stormy seas of life and protect him or herself from pain.

If you’re anxious about what other people think of you. . .

If you’re afraid of failure and rejection. . .

If you have any of the FADWAS (Fear, Anger, Doubt, Worry, Anxiety, Sadness) or more importantly, if they have you. . .

If no matter what you do it’s never good enough or never enough. . .

Then it’s time to install a new operating system.

As soon as possible would be good. And this time, preferably make it a system designed by an authentic, intelligent, sincere and serious adult who knows, likes and trusts you. One who cares very deeply about you and is passionately committed to your life and success.

Know anybody that fits that description perfectly?

You are “The One”: The best one. . . and really you’re the only one qualified for the job.

Problem is: This one is NOT one of those “Do it yourself” deals. Self-help won’t work too well here, because the “self” itself is part of the problem. As Professor Einstein was quoted as saying:

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

Remember, our beliefs are habits of thought, so can you understand how those very same thoughts that formed our beliefs are neither willing nor able to un-make them?

When you’re working on developing and installing a new and improved Operating System– your fundamental beliefs about who and how you are, and the way life really is– self-help doesn’t work, because you and I are blind to the beliefs that limit us and stop us from living in 3D– as we Desire, Dream and Deserve.

We are battleships heading straight for a lighthouse.

Help– which has gotten a “bad rap” for many of us since childhood where it was mistakenly viewed as a sign of weakness (and has been negatively promoted as such by too many of the popular human potential gurus and their personal development workshops)- is absolutely what we need.

Help, in the form of new and more compelling information. (Again: “I am a lighthouse.”)

Help in the form of a new way of working directly with our beliefs that will shift unwanted, self-sabotaging beliefs to empowering beliefs that assure your success. . . fast, in a proven way that lasts.

What your mind believes you will achieve
- all ways and in all ways.

Thanks.
I appreciate you!

Tips on Becoming a Life Coach

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Have you ever thought about becoming a life coach. Do you have what it takes to help people get their lives in order. This article may help you to find the answers you need in order to get you on the path to becoming a life coach, and you could be getting people’s lives in order quicker than you think.

First, it is important for you to make sure that you like counselling or providing therapy for people. If you want to be a life coach, you will not necessarily have to provide counselling sessions for people on a daily basis, but you will have to give people guidance when it comes to making important decisions organizing their life aspirations. It may be best to go to a life coach institute when you first make the decision to become a coach, so that you can see how other professionals in the field work, and you can get first-hand results on what type of advice to give to clients.

Going to an institute will also give you a more specific direction in becoming a life coach. If you are good at helping out your friends and family with money problems, you may want to consider business coach training or financial life coach training. In doing so, your primary focus will be on helping clients make lists detailing how much money they spend per week or month, as well as balancing a check book in order to stay within a budget. Alternatively, you may want to become a professional life coach in the areas of marriage or relationships. In this capacity, you will be able to help couples learn to accept each other’s differences, and learn how to disagree in a respectful matter.

You can also help students or new parents with your life coach skills. Assisting students to prioritize work, study, and free time will help them to become citizens that are more productive and to be more successful in school. Parents will need extra assistance if this is their first time with a baby. Adding new members to the family creates extra work and a completely new schedule, and a life coach is definitely needed for situations like this.

Before you make your final decision on becoming a life coach, make sure that you go to a life coach first to make sure that you will be asking your clients the right questions. You will eventually create your own coaching style, but becoming a life coach should involve being a student first. So, make sure you are prepared to learn and good luck with your new career.

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Emotion and intelligence are two terms that are combined more as time passes. Many people have an innate ability to utilize the strengths of human nature to further success. Individuals with a high level of emotional intelligence have an insightful understanding of themselves and others. If a situation invokes stress, the person with a high level of emotional intelligence has an instinctive ability to console and comfort.

Individuals with high levels of emotional intelligence can easily empathize with others. They see the situation from another perspective without stress. While some people are born with abnormally high levels of emotional intelligence, it is a trait that the majority of people can learn. There are a myriad of benefits to EI encouragement. Individuals with high emotional intelligence are noted to achieve better results in projects. They can develop greater professional networks and achieve higher productivity.

Experts today cite many benefits to having a high level of EI. EI is usually measured by using four different areas of ability. The first level is that of general perception. What emotions are others feeling? People with a strong EI can detect the presence of emotion in themselves and others. They can often spot minor emotional problems that might lead to serious issues in the future.

The next area of measurement is that of using emotions. High EI often indicates a unique ability for problem solving and decision making. These cognitive traits are beneficial in the work environment. Experts have stated that emotional intelligence is the most important form of intelligence in the workplace. It is a natural process of motivation and problem management.

The third area of measurement in emotional intelligence is that of just understanding emotions. Human communication involves many forms of non-verbal language. People with high EI are capable of reading this emotional language in others. They are not intimidated by complicated relationships and can easily mediate disagreements. High EI individuals can coach positive emotions in co-workers and associates. They are wonderful motivators with a genuine and sincere enthusiasm. The are agile at goal setting and can direct a group towards achievable and rewarding project conclusions.

The final area of testing for EI is that of managing emotions. This is the ability to bring out the most positive and constructive emotions in everyone. Those with the ability to manage emotions can often overlook their negative feelings and maintain focus on goals and the necessary positive emotions to achieve them. EI-oriented individuals can gauge their own reactions and behaviors. This helps them see what influence their behaviors have on others before acting.

Emotional intelligence is a practical necessity in any office setting. The intensive self-reflection involved opens communication with others. High EI individuals can achieve much more through self awareness of goals and limitations. Because so many professions involve team atmospheres, emotional intelligence is a productive and beneficial element to the workplace.

People with high EI are frequently motivators. They are capable of understanding their personal moods and drives. They are equally capable of understanding the same qualities in others. They can urge fellow employees or teammates to strive for the best work possible. A person with high emotional intelligence has a strong ability to control or change negative feelings. They naturally think prior to behaving on an impulse.

Entrepreneurs are frequently gifted with a strong amount of EI. They have a zeal for their work that goes beyond money or status. This helps them realistically judge themselves and successfully interact with clients. EI allows an individual to break down major achievements into simple steps. This goal setting can have a positive impact on any developing industry.

General technical or mechanical intelligence will remain a valued trait in the business world. It is not the only strength examined today. A high level of emotional intelligence can improve the work experience and the work place.

Why Life Coaching Makes A Difference

Monday, August 4th, 2008

If you are a high achiever; getting a life coach may not seem like the best of ideas. You may feel that a life coach may not give you much of a benefit. For almost all people, life coaches can make a difference. Join me as we take a look at how life coaching can make a difference, in your life.

I had the radio on downstairs at home. The radio was on a station which I don’t generally listen too, but was on. An advert came on which was presenting the station as the best choice because ‘getting up in the morning is always hard’, and the presenters can help you out of bed!

It dawned on me that many people have such a problem. Usually it is something to do with working in a job that has no satisfaction. I found it odd, because for me predominantly, I can jump out of bed on a Monday feeling inspired, and ready for action.

Like all people, even I have the times when I just don’t want to get out of bed. It happens to us all. We have tasks which don’t seem promising, and we feel like no amou
